ストーリー概要｜Synopsis

2022年、韓国・江原道東海市で朝鮮半島史上最大規模の山火事が発生する。映画学科の学生たちは、卒業制作のドキュメンタリーを撮るために被災地を訪れるが、撮影中の対立を経て大半のスタッフがソウルへ戻り、現地には監督と撮影監督だけが残ることに。二人は長い時間をともに過ごすうちに、監督の過去と心の傷が明らかになっていき――。

本作は、韓国クィア映画の旗手イ＝ソン・ヒイル監督（『後悔なんてしない』）による、10年ぶりのクィア映画復帰作であり、最新作。タイトルの「Solastalgia（ソラスタルジア）」は、環境変化によって故郷を失った人々が抱く“失われた場所への郷愁”を意味する。

In 2022, a massive wildfire—the largest ever recorded on the Korean Peninsula—breaks out in Donghae City, Gangwon Province. A group of film students visits the disaster-stricken area to shoot a graduation documentary, but after conflicts arise during filming, most of the crew returns to Seoul. Only the director and the cinematographer remain on site. As the two spend a long period of time together, the director’s past and emotional scars gradually begin to surface.

This film marks the long-awaited return to queer cinema of leading Korean queer filmmaker LeeSong Hee-il, known for No Regret, and is his latest work after a decade-long absence from the genre. The title “Solastalgia” refers to the feeling of homesickness and emotional distress experienced by people who have lost their homeland due to environmental change.

ディレクターズ・ノート｜Director’s Note

本作は監督の映画のファンたちによって作られました。彼らは製作費を出し、スタッフとして参加し、さらに助演や端役として出演もしています。これは「故郷」をテーマにした映画です。英題「Solastalgia」は、“永遠に失われてしまった故郷を思う郷愁”を意味します。気候危機によって実際に故郷を失った人もいますが、誰もがそれぞれに喪失感を抱えて生きています。本作を通じて、そうした喪失のただ中にある「希望」について語りたいと考えました。

The movie was made by fans of the director’s movies, who paid for the production, worked as crew, and appeared in supporting and minor roles. It’s a movie about home. The English title, “Solastalgia,” refers to the longing for a permanently lost home. While some people have lost their hometowns due to the climate crisis, each of us lives with a sense of loss. Through this movie, I wanted to talk about hope in the midst of loss.
