ストーリー概要｜Synopsis

36年前、スヒョンはドイツ在住の韓国人女性信徒による修練会で、インソンと初めて出会い、花を贈った。当時既婚者だったインソンは、夫の脅迫や在独韓国人社会からの圧力にもかかわらず、愛を求めてスヒョンを選んだ。20代で言葉も通じない異国の地・ドイツに渡り、看護師として働いた二人は、30年間にわたって人生の苦楽を共に歩み、自分たちと同じ〈異邦人〉のために連帯し、互いを支え合ってきた。

釜山国際映画祭やソウル国際女性映画祭をはじめ、韓国国内外の数多くの映画祭で上映され続けているドキュメンタリー作品。DMZ国際ドキュメンタリー映画祭、ソウル独立映画祭など、韓国を代表する主要映画祭での上映に加え、ヨーロッパではベルリン韓国映画祭やドイツ・ルートヴィヒスブルク映画祭などでも紹介され、アジアから欧州へと上映の場を広げてきた。本作は、少数者の生に寄り添い、共に生きる人々の姿を見つめた映画であり、「境界を越えてきた二人の愛」を静かに、しかし力強く映し出す物語である。

Thirty-six years ago, Su-hyun met In-sun for the first time at a religious retreat for Korean women living in Germany and offered her a flower. Although In-sun was married at the time, she chose Su-hyun in search of love, despite threats from her husband and pressure from the Korean community in Germany. In their twenties, the two women moved to a foreign land where they did not even speak the language, working as nurses in Germany, sharing joys and hardships together for over thirty years, standing in solidarity with other “outsiders” like themselves and supporting one another.

This documentary has continued to be screened at numerous film festivals in Korea and abroad, including the Busan International Film Festival and the Seoul International Women’s Film Festival. In addition to major Korean festivals such as the DMZ International Documentary Film Festival and the Seoul Independent Film Festival, it has also been showcased in Europe at events such as the Berlin Korean Independent Film Festival and the Ludwigsburg Film Festival, expanding its reach from Asia to Europe. It is a film that stands close to the lives of minorities and quietly yet powerfully portrays a story of “a love that has crossed borders,” while closely observing two people who continue to live and support each other.

年配レズビアンの可視化 ー 2007年、韓国政府は性的指向を含む差別禁止法の制定を試みましたが、キリスト教勢力の強い反対により挫折しました。その後も保守系キリスト教団体の組織的な活動によって、2021年時点でも韓国では差別禁止法は成立していません。毎年クィア文化祭が開催される際には、そのすぐ隣で反対集会が同時に開かれます。
韓国では特に、年配のレズビアンたちが“不可視化”された存在として扱われています。メディアに登場する機会がないため、まるで存在していないかのように“存在そのもの”が消されてしまうのです。それは、ドイツの花屋やレストラン、アジア系スーパーでは多くのアジア人を見ることができるのに、メディアではほとんど姿が描かれない状況にも似ています。本作の二人は、韓国で過ごした時間の倍以上をドイツで暮らしてきたにもかかわらず、いまだに“よそ者”として扱われています。
少数者へ差し出す連帯の映画 ー だからこそ、この映画はレズビアンだけでなく、その他の周縁化された人々とも肩を並べて世界と向き合おうとする作品です。若い世代にはロールモデルが不足しており、「年を重ねる自分」を想像することができません。10代から30代の若者には、「人生はその先も続いていくのだ」と。40代から80代の人々には、「あなたのように生きている人が今もここにいる」と伝えたいのです。人生とは、本を突然閉じるように断ち切られてしまうものではなく、日記を書き、ページを一枚ずつめくっていくように、続いていくものなのだということを――。

Visualization of the problem of older lesbians – In 2007, the Korean government tried to enact an anti-discrimination law, including sexual orientation, but it was thwarted by strong opposition from Christian groups. Since then, no anti-discrimination law has been enacted in Korea until 2022 due to the organized activities of conservative Christian groups. When the annual Queer Culture Festival is held, a rally against discrimination against LGBT people is held at the same time. Especially in Korea, the existence of older lesbians is not revealed. Since they did not appear in the media, they did not stand out as if not exist. It’s like the Asians to be seen in German flower shops, restaurants, and Asian supermarkets are rarely seen in the media. In this film, the two have lived in Germany twice as long as in Korea, but they are still treated as strangers.
A film of solidarity dedicated to LGBTQ – That’s why this film is meant to allow lesbians to stand side by side with other people and face the world. The young generations have no role models of their own and doesn’t imagine getting older. This film wants to tell those in teens to 30s that lives continue after that, and those in 40s to 80s that people like you are still living like this. Our lives don’t cut off suddenly as if we close a book, but rather like writing a diary and turning the pages of a book, they go on and on day by day.
